Having enough memory is vital to system performance, and lots of RAM lets you run more applications simultaneously. Sufficient RAM is also necessary for graphics work, image editing and video editing, and crucial for 3D gaming. This is especially true in notebooks HP DV6000 battery, because notebook graphics processors frequently have little or no memory of their own and share the main system RAM.
All told, then, I would say that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is a lot of computer for not that much money–I think this model, with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 Gigabyes of RAM, would run $1,500, plus tax. Would I buy this computer if I was in the market? Absolutely. Would I have complaints about anything? Not really, beyond the inconsistent Dell Inspiron 6400 battery performance.
Seeo has developed a nano-structured solid-state battery based on a solid polymer electrolyte that founder and technology director Mohit Singh says is more stable, safer, and has a higher energy density than lithium-ion Compaq Presario 2100 batteries now on the market. For comparison, MIT’s Technology Review explains, “[T]oday’s lithium-ion batteries use lithium cobalt oxide electrodes and a liquid electrolyte…the electrode material can release oxygen when overcharged or punctured, causing the flammable solvent to catch fire and the battery to explode.”
Another extremely valuable Road Trip gadget I’ve had with me this year has been LiveScribe’s Pulse pen. CNET has covered this product several times, so I won’t bore you with all the details of it. But suffice it to say that as a reporter on the road, talking to lots of different people and trying to keep up with notebook after notebook A32-S6 Battery , full of barely legible notes, having a pen that can record what people are saying, and synchronize those notes to the audio has been great.
Essentially, the Pulse pen lets you record audio of, say, an interview, and then, because the notes are written on special proprietary paper with a barely visible grid, it is able to synch the audio to pretty much the exact spot where something was said. So, imagine you’re looking back through your notes and realize you didn’t get all of what someone was saying. Simply tap on the notes there and the pen plays back the recording, right from that spot.
Singh developed the nanostructured polymer electrolyte as a post-doctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, and says the batteries can deliver 300 watt-hours per kilogram (compared with less than 200 watt-hours per kilogram for a traditional lithium-ion laptop battery) and can operate at a much higher temperature than the competition. The company has reportedly raised around $2 million in funding from investors including Khosla Ventures.
